Hi, I’m Ivy Chim.
I am a first-generation Asian American, born and raised in colonial Hong Kong. My experiences as an immigrant and trauma survivor deeply shape the way I hold space as a therapist.
Therapy is my second career — a calling rooted in a deep desire to offer what I’ve received: a healing space to feel seen, heard, safe, and connected.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in geography and cartography — fields that still shape the way I view the healing process as a kind of internal mapmaking. Just like physical maps help us understand where we are and where we want to go, therapy can illuminate the terrain of your inner world, helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been lost or silenced. We’ll work together to find your way back to your voice, your truth, and your inner compass.
Outside of the therapy room, I find joy in reading, movements, meditation, audiobooks, and exploring new places and cuisines with my loved ones. I value the small, grounding rituals that help me stay present and connected — just like everyone I work with.
Now, I’d love to learn more about who you are, and walk alongside you on your journey.
